Reserve Bottle List

Anchorage—Tide and it's Takers—Triple—9%abv—Alaska
This is an unshored ale. Wild and Remote; there's a beer where the sea used to be. I believe there will be many takers for this tide. It begins with a soft and spicy floral nose. The brett notes are measured and reverberate around the lemon-cream-pie hops like ripples around a buoy in a beam sea. Wood notes drift and float by and bring a bit of vanilla toward the end but mostly the wood does the important work of softening the heat of a multi-phase fermentation that is three fathoms deep. Putting a snifter of this beer up to your lips is like putting a conch shell up to your ear. It has a lunar-pull that makes you reflexively go for the next sip.

Arbor—Framboozled—Wild Raspberry—7.7%abv—Michigan
This amazing brew is a year in the making. We start with our slightly boozy 7.25% Strawberry Blonde, brewed with orange peel, coriander, and strawberries. Then we age it in gueuze-inoculated oak barrels for at least nine months, finally re-fermenting it with whole raspberries before bottle-conditioning. The newest addition to the sour series is richly complex and reminiscent of brandy-soaked dark fruits, toasted nuts, and a sweet balsamic reduction. Framboozled features a hint of barnyard funk from extended barrel aging in the presence of friendly microbes.

Avery—Vanilla Bean Stout—Stout—11.1%abv—Colorado
Another great offering from Avery's Botanicals & Barrels series. A double dose of vanilla derived from both fresh Bourbon barrels and the trio of Tongan, Ugandan, and Mexican whole vanilla beans is complemented by essences of chocolate, caramel, and molasses to round out this luxuriously silky stout.

The Bruery Terreux—Beret—Wild Raspberry—9%abv—California
Beret is as artistic as those who wear its namesake cap.  Our brewers developed a silky, full-bodied wheat ale which we began fermenting with a Belgian-style witbier yeast strain.  To finish the fermentation, we added our collection of barnyard bacteria, intended to slowly sour the ale, bringing out a slight funk and refreshing piquancy.  Finally, a small dose of pureed raspberries were added for just a hint of fruity tannins, putting the berry in Beret.

Cascade Brewing—Rotating Sours— 5-9%abv—Oregon
Tart, barrel-aged beers are the emerging beer style and Cascade Brewing is a pioneer of the NW style sour beer movement. We are, by nature, the definition of artisanal brewing: we're not bound by stylistic guidelines, just our own imagination and the ingredients we can access. Our blending house currently houses more than 1,400 French oak, Kentucky Bourbon and Northwest wine barrels, plus nine foudres, filled with wheats, blonds, quads, reds, browns and porters that are aged and blended into magical elixirs. These beers have aggressive tart notes that are balanced by residual sugars, fruits, spices and the oak we use.

Jolly Pumpkin—La Roja—Flander's Red—7.2%abv—MICHIGAN
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

Lindeman's—Oud Kriek Cuvee Rene—Lambic—7%abv—Belgium
Hazy ruby red in color with a delicate pinkish head. Beyond the strong aroma of fresh whole cherries lies brett defined barnyard aromas. This union of barnyard funk and cherry aromas promise an invitingly complex dryness to the drinker. As Oude Kriek opens up on the drinker's palate, the acidic tartness and sweetness of the cherries unfold into medley of flavors and textures including tartness from the cherries, notes of berry, anise, lemon peel, sherry, and chewiness from the presence of cherry skin left over from the addition of whole cherries during primary fermentation.

The Bruery Terreux—Rueuze—Gueuze—6%abv—California
Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages. We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale for anywhere from several months to several years and blend the beers together to what we find to be the ideal flavor. This is one complex beer. Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots and olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.
